Pumpkin Latte Ingredients

To make a pumpkin latte at home, you’ll need the following ingredients. The specific quantities and steps are listed in the recipe card below.

dairy free pumpkin latte ingredients labelled.
  • Coffee: Hot, strong coffee is essential for this recipe. I like to use espresso, but you can also brew a strong pot of coffee too.
  • Pumpkin puree: Make sure you are using 100% pumpkin, not pumpkin pie mix. They are not the same. You can make your own puree or buy canned pumpkin for simplicity.
  • Milk: I use almond milk for a lighter taste, but you can use any type milk for this recipe.
  • Brown sugar: For a little caramel sweetness, I love to use brown sugar. You can use white sugar, but it won’t have the same rich sweet taste.
  • Spices: Pumpkin pie spice (of course!) and cinnamon are my spices of choice in this fall coffee drinks recipe.

How To Make A Pumpkin Spice Latte At Home

Here’s a quick overview of how to make a hot pumpkin coffee at home. For the full recipe and ingredient list, scroll down to the printable recipe card.

You will need a small saucepan and a coffee maker to get started.

Step 1: Brew your coffee first and set aside. If using espresso, I recommend a double shot, lengthened with hot water for the required amount. Otherwise brew a strong pot of coffee and set aside.

Step 2: Next you want to make your pumpkin spiced milk. In a saucepan combine the almond milk, pumpkin puree, and spices over medium heat. Continue to stir over medium heat until warmed through. DO NOT BOIL!

Step 3: Pour your coffee into a large mug. Then carefully pour the pumpkin milk over the coffee in the mug. Stir to combine.

Enjoy as it is, or top with some whipped cream and an extra dash of pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon) for a decadent Autumn drink treat.

Recipe Variations To Try

Iced Pumpkin Latte: For warmer Fall days, simply cool the pumpkin milk mixture after heating, then pour it over ice with chilled espresso or cold brew.

Maple Pumpkin Spice Latte: Swap the brown sugar for pure maple syrup to add natural sweetness. Maple pairs perfectly with the pumpkin and spices, and is another delish Fall coffee drinks idea.

Recipe Tips For Success

  • Strong coffee: This recipe needs a batch of strong coffee to carry the coffee flavor through the pumpkin flavored milk.
  • Warmed milk: Ensure you don’t boil the milk mixture – it will change the flavor of the milk. You just want to heat the mixture until it is hot and well combined.
