These red white and blue pretzel rods are a fun and easy patriotic party food idea. With a sweet and salty flavor, these chocolate dipped pretzel sticks are a great addition to 4th of July party celebrations.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Divide your pretzel rods between the three colors.
Working with one candy melt color at a time, place a single color of candy melts in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the candy melts are fully melted and smooth.
Dip one pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, tilting the bowl and using a spoon to cover the pretzel evenly. Coat about half the length of the pretzel rod.
Gently shake off any excess chocolate before placing the pretzel rod on the parchment paper.
While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle the patriotic sprinkles over the pretzel rod. Sprinkle by hand or roll the wet chocolate coated pretzel in a plate of sprinkles for fuller coverage.
Repeat for each of the rods then allow them to set completely at room temperature (around 30 minutes) or by popping the tray in the fridge for about 10 minutes. Do not leave in the fridge or the pretzels will soften.
Notes
When ready to serve, place your patriotic pretzel sticks in a jar, on a platter as part of a patriotic charcuterie board or in a bowl for your guests to enjoy. Store leftover pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature.
